Tetsuji
Emura (Nishinomiya, Giappone 1960)
Tetsuji Emura has won many honors
and awards. In 1992, he won with « Intexterior No.5 » for orchestra the First
Prize at the 2nd Witold Lutoslawski International Composers Competition Warsaw
Philharmonic (Jury: Lutoslawski). The following 1993, his Concerto for violin
and orchestra « L’Intextérieur » was given the Honorable Mention at the
International Competition of Composition of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government
(Jury: Ligeti), and the following 1994, he received the Akutagawa Award (Jury:
Takemitsu). In 1998, he won with « Les Papillons de Lorenz » for orchestra the
First Prize at the "9e Concours International de Composition Musicale pour
Orchestre, Besançon 1998", and this work was also performed by Krzysztof
Pendereckìs recommendation in the opening concert of the ISCM festival in 2002.
His music, characterized by rich timbres, has been performed at many
