Mats Aron Edén (Södertälje, Svezia 1957)

He is a founding member of Groupa, the flagship of the new Swedish folkmusic. He plays the fiddle in the Nordan-project, the worldwide success that has brought Swedish folkmusic to faraway places like Istanbul, Cairo and New York. He is one of the innovators on the Swedish folkmusic scene and one of its foremost players. Studied composition in Oslo 1983-87 for Olav Anton Thommessen and Lasse Thoresen. Since 1992 he is member of FST - the Swedish composer association.
On his first solo album on the ECM label his first string quartet is recorded.
