Christos
Alexopoulos (Atene, Grecia 1971) He holds degrees in: Harmony, Counterpoint, Fugue,
(“Orfio” Conservatoire, Athens). He studies composition with Joseph
Papadatos. He also, holds a B.A. in English Literature, Faculty of Philosophy,
University of Athens. He teaches Music Theory and Harmony in the Orfio
Conservatoire, Athens, Greece. He has composed over than 300 songs, chamber
music, mixed choir pieces and three orchestra pieces.
His chamber music piece Drunk In the Middle On You and On Standing Up I Met
Your Embrace (for Fl., Vl., Va., Vc.) was performed by the Pro Et Contra
Ensemble during the 7th International Youth Music Forum held in Kiev, Ukraine (May
14, 2001) and finally became a standard repertoire piece for the ensemble. The
Orfio Conservatoire Orchestra has performed his orchestra piece Overturock
(Dec. 2001).
He has composed music for six theatre productions, one multimedia performance,
one music live-art performance and three short films. He was a member of the
pop/rock group Common Sense (1993-1996) that released a 7inch single and a full
LP for Pegasus Records.
His discography as a solo pop/ rock artist includes a CD-single and two full CDs:
Cycle April 1999,CD Single, Hitch-Hyke Records, The Other Side
June 1999, CD, Hitch-Hyke Records, Variations On the One and Only Theme May
2001,CD, Hitch-Hyke Records. He is currently recording his new CD (And Then?)
due for release in autumn 2003. He is a founding member of the theatre and music
entertainment group The Other Side.
